All you need to know about the Siele exam

The SIELE exam certifies the degree of proficiency in the Spanish language through four tests: Reading Comprehension, Listening Comprehension, Written Expression and Interaction, and Oral Expression and Interaction; and takes as a reference the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) of the Council of Europe.  SIELE is the International Spanish Language Evaluation Service that certifies the degree of proficiency in Spanish through electronic means. It is aimed at students and professionals from all five continents.

It is promoted by the Cervantes Institute, the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the University of Salamanca and the University of Buenos Aires, which guarantees quality standards and good practices in the elaboration of the tests, and the use of different linguistic varieties of the Hispanic world.

Siele exam: levels and types of tests 

There are 6 types of siele exams, depending on the Spanish level. In our Spanish academy we prepare all of them.

In addition, there is a type of global multilevel exam.

It is a single exam that allows you to obtain the SIELE certificate, a document that includes the score obtained in each of the four tests and its equivalence with the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), as well as an overall score from 0 to 1000, which is the result of the sum of the score of each of the four tests.

To prepare for this Spanish exam it is important to work on reading comprehension, listening comprehension and oral expression. It is important that you are well guided to be able to do a good exam. In our school we will guide you.

How to take the exam

In order to take the exam, the first thing you must do is reserve your place here.  Then, choose the exam modality you wish to take (SIELE Global or any of the 5 independent modalities). And last, sSelect the country, the date and the Test Center where you wish to take the SIELE Spanish exam to obtain your SIELE certificate.

We recommend that you arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled time and bring your official ID.
