The Spanish culture is vast. If you try to learn Spanish in Madrid, you must know about the culture, too! We are not talking about bars, discos and ‘tapas’ here! This city has important museums, and we are going to explain what you have to do to visit them free. ¿Prado Museum free? Yes please! We know you usually have to pay to visit it, but some of the most important museums in Madrid could be visited for free. Do you want to know how and when?
- “Museo Nacional del Prado”. This is the most important in Spain. Experts say you need more than a week to visit fully. Of course, this isn’t necessary, unless you are studying History of Art, or similar. It is free on Sundays, from 17:00 to 19:00. Daily you can visit it for free too. In this case, you should go from 18:00h to 20:00. Be careful with the great queue!
- “Museo Sorolla”. You´ll be impressed before entering. You´ll see a beautiful garden just in front of the entrance. Inside, you´ll be in ‘Sorolla´s House’, which hosts very interesting exhibitions. Free on Saturdays from 14:00 until 20:00h. And on Sundays from 10:00 until 15:00h.
- “Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza”. Six minutes walking from “Museo Nacional del Prado”. To the other side of Paseo del Prado. Totally free on Mondays, from 12:00h. to 16:00h.
- “Museo Reina Sofía”. Full of activities and exhibitions. The best advice to take advantage of it is checking its official site on Internet. There you can discover all the things you can do in this Museum. Free from Mondays to Wednesday, from 19:00 until 21:00h. And Saturdays and Sundays from 15:00h until 19:00h.
- “Museo de América”. Close to ‘Faro de Moncloa” (recently re-opened), the “Museo de América”, is home of 25.000 pieces. Pre-Columbian, ethnographic and colonial pieces are the main content you can find inside this museum. Sundays is the open day (completely free), from 10:00 a 15:00h.
You should now schedule your different visits to these cultural places. When you try to learn Spanish, it is very important to mix Spanish classes with other activities, such us visiting these museums. And, following our tips, you can do it for free!
