If you want to know where to ski in Madrid, now that the first snow has fallen, take note because the ski slopes of the region open their doors. The cold these days has finally brought the right weather so we can take out our ski clothes and plan that getaway to practice snow sports.

It is true that we are not the area with more skiable kilometers, but you can find good areas to slide without having to travel in search of other ski slopes, so they are perfect for a fun day in the snow, between sleds, skis and snowboarding.  Let us show you the resorts where you can ski in Madrid.

Where to ski in Madrid

Navacerrada. This mountain pass, located at an altitude of 1858 meters, is undoubtedly the most visited place on weekends by locals looking to escape from the city and spend a day building snowmen, having a snowball fight, taking a walk among its trees and, of course, skiing or snowboarding. The ski resort has 8 slopes (1 green, 3 blue and 4 red) and 7 lifts, with a total of 6.2 km of skiable slopes that open depending on the weather.

Valdeski. This ski resort in Madrid is on the northern slope of the mountains of the Bola del Mundo and Cerro de Valdemartín, in the municipality of Rascafría; the orientation favors good snow conditions on the slopes. It is an important winter leisure center that attracts many people from Madrid and Segovia due to its proximity to both cities.
It is at altitudes between 1,860 and 2,278 meters above sea level and has 22.3 skiable kilometers, in which there are 29 very balanced snow slopes in Madrid, a FIS-approved competition slope, a snowpark, après-ski activities, ski and snowboard school and equipment rental store. In the surroundings of Valdesquí there are also options for ski mountaineering lovers.

Pinilla. This ski resort is actually located in the town of Riaza, in the province of Segovia, but its proximity to Madrid makes it a fairly common snow destination among locals. We can highlight the impressive views and landscapes that surround the resort, at altitudes between 1,500 and 2,274 meters above sea level, in the massif of the Sierra de Ayllón.

And, don´t forget! You can also go skiing all year round at the SnowZone in the Xanadu shopping center.
