As you know, the DELE exams are official qualifications of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, managed by the Instituto Cervantes and the University of Salamanca. For adults, there are exams at six levels, from A1 to C2.
In the next DELE exam, practical knowledge is assessed and Spanish from Spain is as valid as Peruvian or Cuban, but you must use a linguistic variety recognised by Hispanic standards and endorsed by a sufficiently large group of educated speakers. In the exam, however, different varieties of Spanish could be used.
Next DELE Exam logistics
- The University of Salamanca writes them, while the Instituto Cervantes coordinates the examination centres.
From Salamanca, the exams travel sealed to the examination centres.
Examination centre staff convene the candidates and give the exam papers.
The written exam papers are subsequently collected and returned to the University of Salamanca, while the oral exam papers are assessed locally by the examiners.
The university marks the exams and the Instituto Cervantes publishes the mark, which takes about three months.
If you pass, the examination centre will notify you so that you can pick up your certificate.
What the exam will be like
The next DELE B2 will have four tests:
Test 1: Reading Comprehension (70 minutes - 25 points out of 100).
Test 2: Listening Comprehension (40 minutes - 25 points).
Test 3: Written Expression and Interaction (80 minutes - 25 points).
Test 4: Oral Expression and Interaction (20 minutes - 25 points).
In order to know which exam to take, it is very important to know what level of Spanish you have. The best way to do this is to take mock exams.
