The most popular areas to go out in Madrid
Malasaña has been the cradle of the hipsters during the last years. In the center of Madrid, Malasaña has good rock and indie pubs. In this area you can see very different, alternative and hip people. No matter the day, you will always find people in its streets and bars. It’s different and fantastic!
La Latina is another hotspot for partying in Madrid. You can indeed go late at night, but on Sundays it is also imperative to enjoy a good beer on a good terrace first until the night really gets started! La Latina is also a perfect place to have a drink, while enjoying some Spanish tapas, before going out to party later on. Near La Latina is the Shoko nightclub where one can go after finishing having a couple of rounds of drinks. It’s a good place to practice what you have learned in your Spanish classes.
If you want to go out on a Sunday and you like techno music, 'Mondo' disco is your place. Good music sessions with great DJs that will make you dance until your feet hurt. It’s the best place if you want to listen techno music. This is a different club, with an extraordinary charm.
Argüelles is also a good place to party. It is located in the area of Moncloa, the university area of Madrid. This means that there is always a booming ambience in Argüelles. You can see many students and young people here.
Huertas is probably the best known and liveliest area of Madrid. Huertas streets and immediately around are the favorite places to go out for tourists and foreign students. If you are in a Spanish school, this is one of your favorite areas in Madrid. This area is near to Puerta del Sol.
Chueca could be named the "Soho" from Madrid. This small neighborhood is one of the most cosmopolitan and fun in the city. Life in the neighborhood is around the Plaza de Chueca, where we can find lots of terraces when the good weather arrives.
