Language immersion: the best tourist destinations to learn Spanish

Besides being a wonderful city in its own right (and of course being home to excellent Spanish schools such as Academia Contacto!), Madrid is often considered one of the best tourist destinations to learn Spanish. This due to the neutral Castilian Spanish spoken by its inhabitants.

Located right in the centre of the country, from Madrid you have access to other popular tourist destinations such as Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla and Granada which are great for a short vacation.

However, you also have access to a plethora of daytrip destinations such as UNESCO Heritage Site El Escorial, Toledo, the seat of the catholic church in Spain with its magnificent cathedral as well as the charming nearby pueblos of Segovia Cuenca.

There is nothing like visiting new Spanish speaking towns, cities and even countries to deepen both your immersion and understanding of the Spanish language and its cultures.
