The best games to learn Spanish
Kids games may seem childish, but in fact are a great way to learn new words! They are visually attractive, with rules easy to remember, and do not cost as much as a technological device such as a PS5! Playing board games as adults turns any regular get together into a blast.
The second step was to explore our surroundings: where can you buy games in Madrid?
Here’s a list of places with a wide variety of options:
- Near our school, you can find Zacatrus (Calle de Fernández de los Ríos, 57).
- Replay Boardgame Outlet & Café (Ribera de Curtidores, 26).
- Mi Tesoro (Marroquina, 70). They have a Wallapop account in which they put the second-hand games they have for sale.
- Atlántica Juegos (C. de la Luna, 6). Tienda especializada en miniaturas históricas y de fantasía, con una gran gama de juegos de tablero y de rol.
- Don Juego y Don Puzzle (C. de Alcalá, 113 ). Traditional place with an old façade that sells all kinds of puzzles and board or strategy games.
Finally, we mixed two popular things: games and drinks! In Madrid, you can have a beer while you play chess with your friends. Are you a retro lover? Do you prefer warlike strategy games, or puns with words?

Its velvet sofas invite you to have a coffee while you choose a game from the shelves.

Estar Café is a Malasaña classic that has been open for more than 40 years.

They serve typical bravas or tortilla tapas and simple food, to accompany while you choose from the 200 games they have.
-Meltdown Madrid (Calle de Raimundo Lulio, 9. This one is literally next to our school)
Created following the idea of meeting friends to play Play while you choose from a long menu of cocktails to accompany the games. Board games, card games, while the main e-sports are broadcasted on the screens. If you like to socialize and compete, you can sign up for their trivia nights and video game tournaments.
- Six Board Game Cafe (Av. de la Ciudad de Barcelona, 180. Pacífico)
Similar to a toy library, they have more than 1,000 different games. To enjoy them, yes, They charge a small cover fee of €3.5 besides what you consume.
