If you have been working and living in Spain for a few years, you may consider staying here forever and want to apply for Spanish nationality. <\/strong>To do so, you must meet certain requirements and take certain tests. Given the current situation, the Directorate General of Registries and Notaries of the Ministry of Justice informs that if you have started your application for Spanish nationality due to Sephardic origin before 1 October 2019, you will have until 1 September 2021 to provide the CCSE and DELE certificates on the platform of the Ministry of Justice.<\/p>

We recommend that you access the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs<\/a> to check your particular case. Each case may vary depending on your origin and how long you have been in Spain, the reason you came, whether you are working or not, etc.

Exams and tests to obtain Spanish nationality<\/h2>

The Instituto Cervantes prepares and administers two tests required for Spanish nationality: the diploma of Spanish DELE level A2 or higher and the CCSE test.\u00a0<\/p>

The A2 level of the DELE exam<\/a> is to check that you have a minimum level of Spanish to be able to defend yourself and work in Spain.<\/p>

The test of constitutional and socio-cultural knowledge of Spain (CCSE test) is an examination test also developed by the Instituto Cervantes. It assesses knowledge of the Spanish Constitution and Spanish social and cultural reality. These are requirements established by law for the granting of Spanish nationality. The CCSE test has ten exam sittings per year and more than 200 test centres where you can take it. You can check the dates and times on this link<\/a>.<\/p>

CCSE exam for Spanish nationality: what is it like?<\/h3>

The test has two main sections. Each of them corresponds to what is established in the laws for obtaining Spanish nationality. The first is based on government, legislation and citizen participation in Spain. The second is based on Spanish culture, history and society.

The CCSE test consists of five tasks and 25 questions, according to the following structure:<\/p>

  • The first test consists of 10 multiple-choice questions with three possible options. The candidate must select the correct answer to each question from the three available options. These questions are about Government, State powers and institutions, fundamental laws, etc.<\/li>
  • The second is 3 True\/False questions. Knowledge about the application for nationality and the duties and rights it entails.<\/li>
  • The third test is 2 multiple choice questions with three possible answer options. There is a geographical map as a support because the questions are based on the territorial organisation and physical and political geography of Spain.<\/li>
  • The fourth part are questions about Spanish traditions, art, culture and relevant Spanish historical events.<\/li>
  • Finally, the questions in the fifth part are about aspects of everyday life and behaviour of society and administrative formalities in Spain.<\/li><\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
